Sept 6 - Be Bold Be Bold, But Not Too Bold;
Whatever your character may be doing today - on their way to work, going on a pleasant stroll through the town, even just taking out the garbage - they instead find themselves walking along a dark path towards a castle. Along the way are signs.
Be Bold, Be Bold
And a little further in-
Be Bold, Be Bold, But Not Too Bold
Until reaching the castle, where a sign will proclaim
Be Bold, Be Bold, But Not Too Bold
Lest Your Heart's Blood Run Cold
If they choose to enter the castle, your character will be met with a grizzly sight. Their own worst nightmare, be it a dream or a memory or a predilection. Whatever they find in this castle, it will be a sight they will not wish to linger on.
(tl;dr - An event based on the fairy tale Mr Fox by Joseph Jacobs. Characters who choose to participate will find themselves drawn to a strange castle, where they will witness their worst fear. It can be a nightmare, a memory, or something that will happen to them in the future. They will emerge from this unscathed. At least physically.)
Sept 22 - With Good Intentions
A handsome stranger rolls into town. Longtime residents of Burby know better than to say anything more than a friendly hello, but maybe you're not so wise. Maybe you sit next to him in the pub, or run into him on the street. Maybe he gives you that rakish grin of his, half mischief, all charm, and asks about your day. Maybe you make the mistake of mentioning you want something.
He has a good heart, this handsome stranger, and he wants to help you get what you want. The problem is, he's just a little too clever for anyone's good. He can't just give you what you ask for; he has to give you more, better. You want dog because you like animals? He gives you a horse. It's an animal, and more useful than a dog because you can ride it! Never mind you have no place to keep a horse, or a way to feed it, or you're deathly afraid of them.
This is why residents don't talk to him much. But of course, nobody bothers telling the newbies.
(tl;dr -- Your character asks for something and gets it -- but somehow it goes horribly wrong. You can play out a conversation with the trickster on the 29th, or you can handwave the bargain and simply play out the consequences.)
