Alec is also knows that the mutliverse is fucking with him because he's met someone in charge of it and they told him so. He's visited various realities and so, if permission given he'd be familiar with the reality your characters come from. It's not a breaking the fourth wall for him so much as he's actually visited it, much like you would visit New York.

Alec will be mildly weirded out by fandboying and may have a Pavlov's reaction and bonking him depending on what happens. (Worked with some rabid fans for a while in an organization that dealt with badly written fan fic and the fan fic universities to help with that, so there are reflexes.)

It's been an integral part of his (twenty year) history, though hard to portray it properly without making it seem like he's breaking the fourth wall. I'm hoping it works out here though!
